The course starts and finishes downtown near Guthrie Green in the Tulsa Arts District, threads the Maple Ridge, Cherry Street and Brookside neighborhoods, passes the University of Tulsa, and runs long stretches along Riverside Drive and the Arkansas River trail system. Expect roughly +822 ft (250 m) of cumulative climbing over a series of rollers — runnable but with enough up-and-down that you should respect the hills early. Because the start and finish are both in downtown Tulsa the net change is near zero, far under Boston's 1,500-foot limit, so times count fully toward BQ with no downhill adjustment. The signature feature is the optional Center of the Universe Detour: marathoners can add about 0.3 miles to visit Tulsa's famous acoustic anomaly on the Boston Avenue pedestrian bridge — making it a 26.5-mile day, the tongue-in-cheek 'World's Shortest Ultramarathon' — and collect a commemorative coin and a beer.
