Wind at 20.5 km/h can affect your marathon pace by 5-15 seconds per kilometer. Headwinds slow you down exponentially — a 20 km/h wind costs more than twice a 10 km/h wind.

Use Calculator →The Beneva Marathon de Montreal full marathon runs on Sunday, Oct 11, 2026, with a 7:45am gun start from Parc Jean-Drapeau on Ile Sainte-Helene. It is the centrepiece of a three-day festival weekend (Oct 9-11) that also includes a half marathon, 10K, 5K, 1K and the Mile.
Yes. The course is measured and certified by Athletics Canada and World Athletics, so a finishing time counts toward Boston qualifying. Use our Boston qualifying calculator to check your standard, and the pace calculator to plan the splits you need on the +172m course.
The marathon has a 6-hour course limit, which works out to roughly 8:32 per kilometre (about 13:44 per mile). That gives walk-run finishers comfortable margin. Plug your goal into the finish-time calculator to confirm you stay inside the cutoff.
It is a fast, mostly gentle point-to-point course with about +172m of total climb and a few rolling sections, finishing on the Olympic Park esplanade in Parc Maisonneuve beneath the leaning Stade olympique tower. It rewards even pacing rather than a single big hill strategy.
The 2026 full marathon is sold out. Entry is online through Race Roster with no lottery, but the full marathon fills well ahead of race day. Watch the official waitlist or bib-transfer window (transfers usually close before race week), or plan for the 2027 edition. As a reference, recent full-marathon entry has run roughly C$127-C$190 depending on the registration tier.
Montreal is a bilingual French-and-English city in Quebec where you will hear bonjour and hello in the same breath. Mid-October delivers peak fall colour, cafe-lined Plateau streets, the cobblestones of Old Montreal and a finish-line festival at the 1976 Olympic Park, making it one of Canada's most atmospheric autumn races.
It depends on your passport. Visa-exempt travellers (most of Europe, Japan, Australia) need only an electronic eTA, applied for online before flying. Travellers from countries that require a visa must obtain a Canadian visitor visa in advance. Check current requirements with the Canadian government well before booking flights to Montreal-Trudeau (YUL).
